Limited artist edition of 16 copies only.
Year of the Monkey
A poised and sometimes bizarre reflection of a year in the life.
Year of the Monkey by Paul Garbett is a stunning artist edition hand made to the highest standards, featuring a suite of captivating illustrations presented in a limited edition linen-bound volume.
Known for his rhythmic, geometric illustrations, Year of the Monkey presents a stylistic departure from Garbett’s signature simplicity as he recalls the momentous, menial, and at times, sombre events that make up a year.
Garbett’s illustrations are secreted with allusions to his personal experience alongside the pop-cultural events that impacted us all; the resulting narrative is a cryptic and surreal journey told without words.
This self-contained series of evocative scenarios is presented within duplexed lay flat binding and features beautiful striped page edges. Hand bound in a linen hardcover and finished with foil blocking, this publication is offered as a limited artist edition of just 16 copies, all signed by the artist.
Paul Garbett is a Sydney-based designer and director of Garbett. His work has been exhibited internationally for over 10 years and has received over 200 awards in the process. In 2015, Garbett was granted membership to the prestigious Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).
